COLLISION APPRENTICE

Shift: M-F 6am-2:30pm
Repairs damaged bodies and body parts of vehicles and equipment such as automobiles, trucks, box trucks, semi-trucks, and trailers by performing the following duties.
o TECHNICIAN EAGER TO LEARN HOW TO REPAIR AUTOMOBILES, TRUCKS AND TRAILERS
o TRAINING WITH A QUALIFIED FLEET TECHNICIAN TO LEARN THE PROCESS OF COLLISION REPAIRS.
o REPAIR BODY DAMAGE ON ALL VEHICLES: SUCH AS BONDO WORK, FIBERGLASS REPAIR AND PAINT, INCLUDING PRIMING REPAIRS.
o REPLACE SIDE SKINS, BOTTOM RAILS, REPLACE ROOFS.
o REPAIR FLOOR SECTIONS
o LEARN BASIC WELDING
o MAINTAIN A SAFE CLEAN AND CLUTTER FREE WORKSPACE

- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
Education and/or Experience
- Some college or technical training; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid driver's license strongly preferred.
Other Qualifications
- Must have own tools.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
