ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT - PT

The Accounting Assistant supports the Accounting Director in all aspects of the Accounting process, including but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Bank Deposits, assisting in the Monthly-Closing process, Benefits Administration/Management, managing the Employee New-Hire/Termination process, Accounting Quality Control, Filing, and various projects as assigned. This role will also serve as a backup for the Accounting Director when needed.
" Posts accounts payable invoices daily in a timely manner.
" Performs bi-weekly payroll duties.
" Takes bank deposits to the bank weekly as needed.
" Assists in allocating specific expenses to all company branches, and records specific journal entries in preparation for the monthly-closing process.
" Manages the Benefits Administrative process and obtains all enrollment forms for company benefits and enrolls employees online in a timely manner.
" Follows existing written procedures for onboarding new employees and exiting terminated employees.
" Performs Accounting quality controls to ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of all data.
" Performs all filing for the accounting department.
" Serves as the Accounting backup when the Accounting Director is unavailable.
" Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience
" Two years' experience in an Accounting related position.
" A solid understanding of Accounting theory including understanding of debits, credits as well as accounting concepts and terminology.
" Knowledge of MAC operating system and Microsoft Office software required.
" Knowledge of Sage/Intacct Accounting software desired, but not required.
" Experience using Paychex online payroll highly desired but not required.
" Experience using digital communication tools such as Webex, Skype, chat tools is desired.
