Educational / Certification Requirements:

Bachelors in Accounting preferred

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Solid grounding in cost accounting principles
Computer Literate - Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports

Experience / Special Skills:

Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to work closely with upper management
Outstanding organizational, time management and analytical skills
Demonstrates professionalism at all times
Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
Experience with mid-size business ERP systems a plus, especially Microsoft Navision

Job Description:

This mid-size, NE suburban Portland Company is seeking a cost accountant. This private, closely-held company has a culture of collaborative team effort and values those who are problem solvers and take individual responsibility for results. You will be responsible for providing management with accurate cost analysis for finished product items.
Potential candidates must be very comfortable working with large quantities of numerical data and be able to present reports to management in a clear and detailed manner. The cost accountant will need to quickly learn how to locate data in the ERP system and possess the ability to analyze the data with MS Excel. Responsibilities:

" Provide management with reports for costing by item and margin analysis
" Plan, study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
" Make estimates of new and proposed product costs
" Assist in the reconciliation of finished goods inventories
" Help monitor the cycle count program
" Review all Bill of Materials to ensure completeness and accuracy
