GENERAL LABOR-PRODUCTION - DAY
PORTLAND - N, OR
1) Must be proficient in the areas of lot coding; understanding of packaging machinery; palletizing and other required skill while assigned to other production lines.
2) Perform work on various lines and must comply with GMP's, HACCP, USDA and other Quality Assurance written programs.
3) Practice Safe Work Procedures and applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Production Support
" Actively perform production related duties in assembly and packaging of any product manufactured in plant operations.
" Place labels, erect boxes, stack boxes on pallets, load and unload frozen vegetables and/or protein for safe food handling, remove and fill packaging materials, assist in removing finished frozen product from trays or other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or leads.
" Generally perform these duties as indicated by standing for long periods of time; repetitive movement is necessary for continuous line production output.
" May be required to operate other equipment necessary in the production process temporarily. Rotate with other line employees in various positions as needed.
2) Production Food Safety Handling Practices
" Practice and enforce GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) during the production process.
" Observe GMP's strictly by changing gloves which have become soiled and changing hair nets and beard/face masks when leaving or returning from breaks. Change gloves when coming in contact with product which has fallen on floor. Change smocks when leaving or returning from lunch or break periods.
" Report to Leads or Supervisor when you have observed a potential food safety concern regarding the unsafe handling of products and machinery.
3) Production Related Safety Performance
" Practice physically safe work activities to prevent potential for accidents (personal injury to yourself or other employees).
" Advise Supervisor or Leads when there is a concern for safety awareness which may affect other team members.
" Remain accident free by increasing your awareness about your immediate work surroundings.
" Report all incidents and accidents immediately when it occurs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Education: Diploma or GED certificate; or equivalent combination of education and food production experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form.
