Job Description
Summary
Applies coats of paint to exterior surfaces of manufactured products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor or regarding painting.
Smoothes surfaces and prepares surfaces to paint.
Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
Spreads dropcloths over floors and windows, rubber components, etc with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
Paints surfaces with spray gun.
Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
Washes and prepares surfaces prior to painting.
