Full Time (temp-to-hire) position with an industrial paint manufacturing facility in Portland.

Position is for Paint Maker which consists of;

Reading and understanding batch tickets (recipes).
Moving, handling, and mixing paint raw material components.
Operation of paint mixing and pumping equipment.
Quality control testing of paint.
Lifting and moving materials and finished product.
Assist in filling/packaging or otherwise as needed.

Training: Company will train for paint making and safety compliance.

Must be able to: Read directions in English
Basic Math
Lift up to 70lb bags or cans
Move up to 500lb drums with drum dolly
Have no pre-existing or unusual sensitivity to heavy lifting, solvents, chemical, or dust. (Protective equipment is company supplied)

Shift hours are Monday-Friday, 6: 30am-3pm, must be available to work overtime until 4: 30pm. Weekends and holidays are closed. CURRENTLY TESTING 4 x 10's; Mon-Thurs 6am-4: 30pm.

Parking and public transportation: Tri-Met bus stop at this location and free on-street parking a couple blocks away.

Physical requirements are the ability to work in an industrial environment including chemicals, solvents, fumes, dust, noise, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and heavy lifting.
Must be able to complete safety & compliance training, follow good housekeeping practices, and maintain safe working environment.
Basic math, written & verbal English are required.
Maintain an excellent safety and attendance record including quality of work.
Must use the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) for certain tasks. Workers may be required to wear respirators, dust protection, ear protection, safety glasses, and/or gloves.

Pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check required.

Compensation range: $15-16/hour
