Prep associates are the first line of defense in assuring that our customers get clean, fresh and high quality product in their deliveries. The prep team deconstructs full pallets of product, sorting and re-packing into RPCs (Recycled Plastic Containers) so that only good high quality product is ready for the Pack team to place into customer boxes. As associates sort and repack they are diligently removing poor quality and other defects while also tracking and recording loss and labor. Prep associates work inside of a highly dynamic department where attention to detail and a sense of urgency are a must.

The Prep Associate will be required to work as part of a team as well as doing independent work when required. Prep Leadership (Manager/Supervisor) is the main point of contact to answer questions and provide training so that procedure is properly followed. Prep associates must ensure that they are sorting donations and compost properly while also keeping their work areas clean and safe. This position requires the ability to reliably show up to an a-typical work schedule. Prep Associates must be able to stand, bend and lift for an extended period of time while working in a cold and wet environment.

Arrive on time and ready to work. Ensure call-outs and time-off requests are within Attendance Policy guidelines.
Some over-time may be required as necessary to complete workload.
Wear gloves, hair-cover, vest and steel toe shoes while working.
Report unexpected quality issues to Prep leadership.
Utilize floor mats and appropriate containers for ice, trash and compost.
Empty all receptacles and put away donation boxes after finishing each task.
Stack finished RPC's on pallets no more than 7 high.
Refresh gloves between tasks and wash hands after each break/restroom use.
Organize, clean and sanitize work stations before starting a new task.
Break down cardboard boxes into recycling bins and trash into lined garbage bins.

Basic produce knowledge and handling experience
Ability to stay focused and work efficiently both independently and as a part of the team
Flexible and dynamic problem solving capabilities
Organization and time management skills
Ability to push, pull and lift 50# and work in a cold and wet environment
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
Working Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm
