The production employee will perform the basic assembly and process work of the finished food product. Persons in this classification will perform a variety of tasks on a variety of assembly lines to achieve a finished food product.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
h Perform one or more functions on the assembly lines including but not limited to; washing, peeling, cutting, weighing, measuring and pouring ingredients in container, placing lids, labeling, boxing, un-boxing, stacking, wrapping or other function to accomplish tasks.
h Receive washed product and take to department lines for processing.
h Employees must follow company policies.
h Follow company GMPs for safe food handling.
h Other duties as assigned by plant management.

h Ability to stand and perform job functions at assigned assembly line
h Ability to use knife or other hand tool to perform cutting and cleaning functions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
h Two years previous food processing or food preparation skills preferred.
h Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
h Basic counting skills.
h Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move between 10 and 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. h Must wear personal protective equipment (hair net, cutting gloves, work sleeves, smock)
h Work in cold and wet working environment (approx. 34 degrees) Vwarm clothing is advised (heavy socks, pants, jacket, head covering, etc.).
h Physical hazards of working in and about moving machinery.
h Must be cognizant of body and limbs so as to not be too close to machinery.
FOOD SAFETY & FOOD SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES:
All persons within the company have responsibilities to ensure that threats to the safety and security of our final product are minimized. Responsibilities for this position include;
h Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs]
h Reporting any unauthorized persons in or about the facility as well as incidents of employee tampering to management.
h Understanding basic concepts of food borne illness.
h Comply with all food labeling requirements as determined by specific job within company.
