Job Description

To cover for Probationary employment - such as a contract - hire
Production Molding Technician
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Reports to assigned Production Facilitator as directed by Engineering Manager
Responsible for carrying out work processing parts to established requirements, as well as other functions as determined by training records and workflow demands, including but not limited to:
" Primary Responsibilities
o Attend work consistently and communicate absences as far in advance as possible.
o Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
o Maintain the work area and equipment in an orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations, guidelines or as directed by supervisors, trainers and management.
o Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process.
o Set-up and operate machine. Run machine at a consistent cycle. Clean machine during and after use.
o Take precision measurements to ensure fit of components per specifications.
o Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications.
o Check/inspect output to ensure highest quality. Verify parts meet Q&D standards for quality. Identify any rejects and reasons for rejection as needed.
o Inspect tooling for wear, etc. Clean as needed. Conduct minor repairs and change inserts
o Keep an accurate count of all parts, either manually or using scales and time.
o Monitor machine, watch for malfunctions, and report any such malfunctions to supervisor or designee. Make sure machine does not close on molded product and/or inserts. Report on issues, malfunction, or defective parts.
o Other tasks as assigned by immediate Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

" Secondary Responsibilities
o All Q&D employees are expected to participate in the cleaning team.
o Participate in company-wide training sessions.
o Work directly with engineering personnel to build new products or test and develop new processes.

" Qualifications
o Previous molding (injection, transfer/compression, insert) experience)
o Good basic work skills, interpersonal skills to include must be friendly, courteous, flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
o Must be detail-oriented and work effectively while meeting all applicable deadlines with problem solving abilities
o Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; able to manage multiple projects.
o Capable of processing basic math equations, understands measurements in both fraction and decimal. Capable of reading and comprehending low to medium level technical documents as well as basic reading level.
