JOB SUMMARY

Setup and operate CNC machinery to manufacture medical implants and instruments. Perform inspection of machined parts for acceptability per manufacturing prints. Effectively maintain equipment as required.


STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE and ACCOUNTABILITIES

" Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
" Accept assignments with open, cooperative, positive and team-oriented attitudes.
" Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and etc.).
" Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. Do not proceed if discrepancies are found.
" Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation. Do not proceed if problems are found.
" Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.
" Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Do not perform operation if ID is questionable.
" Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation.
" Follow department Standard Process Instructions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Level I Operator

1. Use hand held tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect machined parts.
2. Load and unload medical implants for machining.
3. Perform basic equipment maintenance.
4. Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
5. Become proficient in minor to complete setup, program download and operation of CNC machinery within the first year of employment.

Level II Operator

1. Setup and edit programs for CNC machines.
2. Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
3. Read and interpret manufacturing prints and understand geometrical tolerances.

Level III Operator (lead)

1. Complete setup and program of CNC machines.
2. Design and implement manufacturing jigs and fixtures.
3. Read and interpret manufacturing prints and understand geometrical tolerances.
4. Lay out inspection processes.
5. Train new and less experienced operators.


AUTHORITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

" Contribute to fiscal stability of company by controlling expenses whenever possible.
" Confer with co-workers to research product quality and customer problems and find solutions.
" Ask manager to clarify priorities and assignments.
" Initiate non-conformance reports when products do not meet specifications.
" Detain shipment of any product that does not meet quality requirements.
" Contribute to a safe working environment by safely operating all equipment and tools, and by identifying and reporting all situations that pose a safety or health risk.
" Contribute to continuous quality improvement by initiating change control to processes or operating procedures.
