PORTLAND - NE, OR
The Wastewater Technician is a direct labor position within the Wastewater/Lab Team whose responsibilities are treatment of waste from processes, chemical analysis of tank compositions, filtration and changing chemical or solution in the chemical tanks and neutralizing solids from the chemical tanks and known practices. There are three levels of competency within this group.
" Entry level, can only perform these duties under supervision of skilled technician
" Semi-skilled, ability to performed these duties with some supervision.
" Skilled, ability to performed these duties with limited or no supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Safety first. Employee will be trained on general safety requirement at the time of hire and specific requirements within this team during the first 90 days of hire. Will be trained and to follow all general safety requirements, as well as specific safety requirements within the wastewater and chemical team. Will be sent to 24 hour Health and Safety Training for Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility Worker.
Employee is responsible to treat waste from processes and chemical waste, chemical analysis of tank compositions, filtration and changing chemicals or solutions in the chemical tanks, neutralizing solids from the chemical tanks, maintaining the chemical tanks and the waste treatment area.
Understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOP) as assigned to the team to assure your job duties are performed in a consistent, reliable and timely manner.
Ability to multitask and communicate to management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
Has an appreciation for timeliness, quality, and punctuality. This includes following all rules and regulations that are stated in the employee handbook.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
No formal education requirements are established for this position. Experience is dependent upon which position, entry level, semi-skilled, or skilled, that the person is performing.
Ability to read and comprehend internal documents such as work order travelers, inventory records, logs and general company records.
Basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication skills in order to process inventory, counting, time allocation, and work hours.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
