Job Description

Position Information: Administrative support of the efforts of the Sales Representatives and Sales Department. Handles a large volume of phone calls and customer orders. Resolves customer issues as they arise. Escalates issues to the CSR 2 as needed. Assists Director of Sales, Executive Assistant, Sales Representatives and Sales Department with tasks and projects as needed.

Essential Position Functions:
Answering phones and taking customer orders
Assisting Sales Representatives with customer and product needs as required
Receives purchase orders from customers via fax or electronically and inputs orders into system.
Maintains customer satisfaction by establishing rapport with customers and others in a position to help meet customer needs.
Resolves product and service problems by researching the situation; identifying alternate means of filling customer needs; recommending solutions.
Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, filing and answering/screening and taking phone messages

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the food industry preferred.
Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated, as well as work with a team.
Ability to coordinate a variety of activities and projects simultaneously and prioritize work.
Accuracy and attention to detail required.
Possess problem solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Thorough knowledge of basic personal computer operations, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Able to sit for long periods at a time.

Education & Experience:
1 years experience in a customer service or sales assistant role.

Physical Demands:
Occasionally required to lift up 20+ lbs.

Able to work in an open office environment with usual voice level noise and stay focused on duties.

Work Environment:
Work performed in a shared, collaborative office environment, managing frequent distractions. Sitting for long periods of time, with standing work station as an option.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct Supervisory responsibility.
This position receives Supervision depending upon the assignment. In some cases, Supervisor outlines steps involved in completing assignments or standard procedures are available to enable the employee to work in a routine fashion. The end results of this work are sometimes checked.
