Job Description


We are a Portland-based Architectural Millwork and Casework shop specializing in building custom elements, store fixtures and displays for international brands within the both the luxury retail and the hospitality and gaming industries. We are currently looking to hire motivated individuals onto our team for immediate openings in our Estimating department.

Both the Estimator and the Estimating Assistant will work with the Sales Team to manage and help bid selected retail millwork and ornamental metal projects to ensure that they are completed both on-time and under budget. Both positions require professionals who can work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate reliability and proactiveness, as well as good communication skills, organization and computer skills (specifically MS Excel), maintain professionalism in the face of deadlines and can handle confidential information with discretion and trustworthiness. Specific duties will include (but are not limited to):
" Assist with planning and analysis of conceptual design issues and preconstruction activities.
" Assist in the development of competitive and detailed bids.
" Review, understand and interpret design details and ensure they are accurately reflected on the proposal drawings to the client as well as the production shop drawings.
" Identify and review materials for procurement per project and prepare material requisitions as required.
" Solicit requests for quotes (RFQ's) for outside services and initiate subcontracts and purchase orders as necessary.
" Track RFI's both incoming and outgoing.
" Create and maintain sample submittal logs.
" Create and maintain fabrication, shipping and installation schedules.
" Perform quality control on product both before shipment and ongoing.
" Review and compile lists of potential changes to budget and/or schedule.
" Maintain and follow up on open item/issue lists per project.
" Prepare documentation for analysis and review of specific issues.
" Direct and/or document project meetings as requested.
" Perform special projects as required.
" Independently manage small and/or repetitive house accounts as directed.
" Promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
