Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for applying advance painting technique to production processes by selecting appropriate coatings and operating application equipment. This position is also responsible for ensuring smooth operation through the finishing department, facilitating timeliness and quality of product by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reads job orders, blueprints or drawings, and inspects pieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
2. Communicates and coordinates projects between departments and project managers.
3. Applies coatings such as paint or lacquer to work piece surfaces, using spray guns or brushes
JOB DUTIES
" Selects appropriate coating ingredients to prepare substances according to specifications.
" Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform the job.
" Determines proper dispersion rate, paint flow, viscosity and coating quality.
" Examines finished surfaces to verify conformance to specification; retouches defective areas.
" Selects and uses training methods appropriate when teaching new skills to others.
" Inspects equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
" Uses spray application equipment and other hand and/or power tools.
" Maintains proper maintenance of spray booth and spray equipment.
" Makes recommendations for improvement of equipment and techniques.
" Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
" Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
" Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
" Respectfully takes direction from manager.
" Performs other duties as assigned.
