Job Description
$25-$30 per hour
Responsibilities include:
" Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure that machines and rolling stock run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
" Inspect, operate, or test machinery or rolling stock equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
" Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them utilizing repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
" Inspect, clean, lubricate, repair or replace mechanical components including but not limited to drives, motors, belts, fluids, filters, shafts, bearings, or gears
" Perform tasks such as welding and metal fabrication.
" Document type of maintenance or repair work on company forms and/or computer software.
" Maintain a safe and clean work area.
" Must be available to work a variety of shifts, overtime, and perform "on-call" responsibilities to accommodate production needs and occasionally work at other locations.
" Must be able to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere.
" Reliable and predictable on-site attendance is necessary.
" Willing to perform other duties as required and assigned by management.
Skills and attributes:
" Minimum 2 years of experience in trouble shooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing plant manufacturing equipment or school equivalent.
" Willing to learn to operate forklifts, skid steers, front loaders, yard goats, balers, strappers and sort system equipment.
" Minimum 2 years in metal fabrication, SMAW, GMAW and oxy-acetylene cutting operations.
" Strengths should include, but not limited to Combustion engine diagnosis, Diesel engine diagnosis, Hydraulic system diagnosis, fabrication/welding as applied to heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
" Ability to prioritize downed equipment, servicing and projects
" Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
" Must be able to work unsupervised as well as work in a team atmosphere.
" Be able to maintain composure in a stressful work environment.
" Possess basic math / computer skills and willing to improve beyond basic computer skills.
" Convey information effectively in written and oral format.
" Willing to work in elevated surfaces, narrow and confined spaces.
" Possess a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
" Must be willing to participate in job enhancement continuing education and/or on the job training.
