JOB TITLE: Preconstruction Estimator
SALARY: Wages TBD depending upon experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Preconstruction Estimator supports the preconstruction/estimating team and assists them with all aspects associated with generating sales proposal/estimates for large architectural millwork and ornamental metal projects. The position requires a professional who can work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrates reliability and proactiveness, as well as good communication skills, organization and computer skills, maintains professionalism in the face of deadlines and can handle confidential information with discretion and trustworthiness.
Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
? Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings,
and to interpret design details and ensure they are accurately captured in the generation of sales proposals.
? Ability to understand both labor and material costs associated with the
fabrication and installation of large architectural millwork and ornamental
metal projects.
? Ability to use Microsoft Excel with a high level of knowledge.
? Ability to generate and track RFI s, both incoming and outgoing.
? Create and maintain fabrication, shipping and installation schedules.
? Review and compile lists of potential changes to budget and/or schedule.
? Maintain and follow up on open item/issue lists per project.
? Prepare documentation for analysis and review of specific issues.
? Direct and/or document project meetings as requested.
? Perform special projects as required.
? Promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
? Regularly consult with shop lead personnel for accurate labor hours or
issues not indicated on drawings.
? Some travel may be required to meet with Customer / General Contractor to clarify scope of work and any bid clarifications
