Shift - graveyard starting at 9pm, 3x12 either Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday

QA Engineering Technician 3
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Works under limited supervision to perform a set of standard duties and responsibilities to support QC/QA operations for designated manufacturing division. This role will support the customer complaints/non-compliance process, will perform a root cause analysis, and provide analysis and potential recommendations to engineers. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
AA or AS degree highly preferred.
Requires at least 4+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.
Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal as well as written instructions in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions.
Ability to use a microscope, depending on the specific function.
Ability to read blueprints/mechanical drawings, depending on the specific function.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
20/20 corrected vision - varies by division
Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel.
Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop.
Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
Ability to manage projects and follow through on process improvement procedures.
Intermediate computer skills including typing, excel and outlook.
Knowledge of ceramic machining processing preferred.
Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Lean and Six Sigma Principles preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Programs and calibrates measuring/test equipment, performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
2. Analyzes and compiles quality data by applying SPC charting, compiles reports, and determines alternative course of action.
3. Assists with creation of deliverables by reviewing customer drawings and specifications.
4. Coordinates functional tests per lot. Verifies rejects and non-conformities. Provides appropriate feedback to production inspectors.
5. Reviews and dispositions product defects identified thru testing and/or inspection process.
6. Recommends modifications of existing quality/production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of production capability.
7. Writes technical reports in analysis of process changes and improvements and/or modifies work instructions to reflect process changes and improvements.
8. Analyzes problems and addresses RCCAAs using intuitive and analytical methods such as 8-D & 5 Why Analyses.
9. Runs experiments to evaluate testing processes and procedures; make recommendations for improvement.
10. Interprets drawings and diagrams and confers with engineering staff to determine quality/reliability standards.
11. Works directly with, and trains manufacturing employees (operators, inspectors, and machinists) on the production floor. May assign and check work of lower-level technicians and operators.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
