SHIPPING RECEIVING COORDINATOR
Job Description
Shipping & Receiving Coordinator 1 -$19.50/hour. Shift M-F 8am to 430pm. Responsible for all warehouse activities in both finished goods and raw material warehouse. Responsible for all shipping activities. Knowledge of UPS, Fed Ex carriers' transportation regulations. Knowledge of Outlook and Excel, data entry. Forklift exp or be able to be certify.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator 1 is responsible for all warehouse activities in both the finished goods and raw material warehouse. Also responsible for all shipping activities.
REQUIREMENTS
High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area.
6 months to a year of related experience in shipping, receiving and/or warehouse operations.
Knowledge of UPS, Fed Ex and carrier transportation regulations.
Ability to work well with other people, both externally and internally.
Proficient with Outlook, and Excel.
APICS, LEAN or 5S experience preferred.
Accurate data-entry skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; experience moving freight.
Fork Lift certified or the ability to be certified within 30 days.
SAP experience and forklift certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plans and/or coordinates outbound shipments. Communicates with Sales regarding shipment status and schedule.
2. Boxes and packages labels according to customer requirements.
3. Checks documents for specific shipping instructions, or selects appropriate carrier for package size, weight and routing; ensure proper labeling and package weight.
4. Receives and verifies all shipments to purchase orders using computer system.
5. Unloads, receives and stocks shipments of supplies and materials; inspects for damage and completeness of order; inspects for hazardous material labels and packaging slips.
6. Assists in the unloading of trucks, when necessary.
7. Unpacks and stores supplies on racks and/or floor level.
8. Delivers supplies to requesting department.
9. Responsible for inventory control.
10. Cleans and maintains shipping and receiving area and storeroom.
11. Signs for all incoming packages after verifying.
12. Offers assistance and information to other departments.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
