Summary
As our shop production schedule coordinator, you will provide input and maintain our work schedules for the purpose of meeting our overall production targets. You will determine the availability of resources and establish start/stop dates for jobs based on current circumstances. Your daily tasks will require you to interface with various groups and facilitate communication between departments as work orders are released to the shop floor.
This role is also responsible for documenting current processes and creating work instructions that will guide future knowledge sharing. We are looking for someone with excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills (oral and written).
Assigned Duties
" Maintain internal work order scheduling system to reflect current information for all department work schedules.
" Revise production schedule as needed due to work order changes, labor or materials shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions.
" Collaborate effectively with department supervisors to monitor progress of work and completion dates, and compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
" Ensure that all scheduled work is completed on time to meet overall deadlines.
" Work with vendors to schedule and update sublet work.
Training and Process Documentation Responsibilities
" Create visual descriptions of work processes using flow charts.
" Draft work instructions using approved visual training format.
" Train others on procedures
" Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Analysis
" Support ongoing Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
" High School or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
" 2+ years production scheduler, dispatch, logistics, or project coordinator experience.
" Software aptitude: must be able to work with spreadsheets, word processors, ERPs, constantly changing program.
" Work environment 60% in office, 40% on the shop floor collecting data.
" Strong time management skills
" Strong analytical skills
" Experience presenting information/training to a group.
" Demonstrate good judgment and teamwork.
" Experience with video conference meetings
" PMP or APIC certification a plus
" Prior repair shop experience a plus
" Willingness to learn
